Close Popup Window

Close Popup Window (Webchat Only)

Overview

The Close Popup Window feature in UChat is designed specifically for Webchat. This feature is used in omnichannel bots and allows for automatic closure of a popup window when no input is received from the user. It is triggered during actions that run parallel to the chat, such as choosing a date from a calendar in a Question Node.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Ensure Omni Channel Setup: First, confirm that your bot is set up as an omnichannel bot. This feature only works in the Webchat channel.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Insert the Close Popup Action in Your Flow

To use the Close Popup Window feature, you need to insert the Close Popup Action within your flow:

  1. Go to your flow: Navigate to the flow where you want to integrate this feature.

  2. Select an action node: The popup will be triggered during nodes that initiate actions outside the main chat (e.g., the Question Node Date Picker).

  1. Insert the Close Popup Action: Find the Close Popup Action in the action list and insert it into the flow.

Step 2: Set the No Input Timer

Once you have inserted the Close Popup Action in your flow, you need to configure how long the popup will remain open if no user input is detected:

  1. Configure the Timer: In the Question Node, set the duration for the No Input Timer. For instance, you may set it to 20 seconds. This means that if the user does not interact with the popup within 20 seconds, it will close automatically.

  1. Finalize the Configuration: Once the timer is set, publish your changes to ensure the action behaves as expected during the flow.

Step 3: Test the Flow

After configuring the Close Popup Window action and setting the timer, it is essential to test your flow:

  1. Initiate the trigger: Start the flow and reach the point where the popup is triggered (e.g., when a user is asked to pick a date).

  1. Check the Automatic Closure: If the user does not interact with the popup within the specified time, verify that it automatically closes and redirects the user back to the main chat window. This is an example of a popup:

Key Points

  • Webchat Only: This feature only works within the Webchat channel.

  • Omnichannel Bots: Ensure your bot is set up as an omnichannel bot for this feature to work.

  • Popup Trigger: Popups are automatically opened during specific parallel actions in the chat, such as choosing a date from a calendar.

Example Scenario

When a user is required to select a date from a calendar via a Question Node, a popup will appear. If the user fails to interact with the popup within the configured No Input Timer (e.g., 20 seconds), the popup will automatically close, and the conversation will resume in the main chat.
